what is reiki

Reiki is a Japanese system of energy healing that can allow a person to regain a sense of equilibrium and bring about deep shifts, when needed. It promotes self-healing at a physical, mental and emotional level and is suitable for a wide range of issues and people as it is a completely safe complementary therapy.

During a session you remain fully clothed, except for your shoes, and lay on a massage table. If this is uncomfortable the treatment can also be carried out whilst you are seated. Once the treatment has started, I will move around you, placing my hands lightly on, or just above the body. Most people experience a sense of deep relaxation and peace both during and after the treatment.

What is Indian Head Massage (Champissage)?
A close-up of a yellow and white plumeria flower with five petals, isolated on a transparent background.

Combining massage, Reiki, and Marma Therapy (which works with the body’s energetic pressure points), Champissage is a deeply relaxing treatment that can provide healing on a physical, mental and energetic level.

Champissage is traditionally given whilst the client is seated, and focuses on the upper back, shoulders, upper arms, head and face. It is a dry massage that is given whilst the client remains clothed, however there is the option for a warm oil application to the scalp during this part of the massage.

What are the benefits?

The head is a powerful centre of both physical and energetic balance. It plays a guiding role in the wellbeing of the entire body, influencing how we feel, think, and move. Among all forms of relaxation therapies, head massage stands out as one of the most deeply restorative.

This sacred area — including the head and neck — houses six of the body’s vital energy centres. When nurtured, these centres support harmony, clarity, and overall health. A gentle head massage not only soothes the mind, but also promotes lymphatic drainage, helping to release built-up toxins and restore your body’s natural flow. It’s a simple yet profound way to reconnect with your inner calm.
