Ayurveda
Ayurveda, in its simplest form, may be described as traditional Indian medicine, but its literal translation of ‘the science of life’ provides insight into the depth and breadth of knowledge that Ayurveda offers.
what is ayurveda?
Ayurveda is one of the oldest systems of medicine in the world. Originating in India, it has been practiced for thousands of years and is a totally natural and holistic approach to achieving health of body and mind.
Ayurveda offers protocols for the maintenance of health and prevention of disease, but also remedial techniques for the treatment of illnesses and imbalances, making it something that can be incorporated into a person's daily routine and used alongside allopathic medicine.
How does it work?
Ayurveda helps us live in harmony with the world around us through cyclical and seasonal living, daily rituals and developing an intuitive relationship with our own body and its ever-changing needs.
Ayurveda considers a person’s individual constitution, their life-history and current circumstances, alongside any presenting issues, to get to the root cause of your symptoms so that any imbalances can be treated effectively and holistically.
Bespoke plans are created for each client that focus on five areas of treatment: nutrition, lifestyle, herbal remedies, yoga (including meditation and breathwork), and manual therapies (i.e massage).
What can it help with?
The system of Ayurveda can be applied at any and all stages of life, and to adopt an Ayurvedic lifestyle is to root into the maintenance of good health and the prevention of disease. Put simply, there is never a time that Ayurveda cannot help in some way, however, there are many imbalances and illnesses that Ayurveda can help treat and heal.

How to work with me
The holistic nature of Ayurveda means there are a number of ways to work with the practice, enabling you to choose a framework that is suitable for your needs and lifestyle; whether this means creating a bespoke plan to target a specific health issue, being part of a group cleanse, creating a new seasonal or cyclical routine for general health and wellbeing, or combining an Ayurvedic plan with other therapies for the ultimate in self-care.
Whichever pathway you are looking for, you can be assured that your individual circumstances and needs are considered and the treatment you receive will always be tailor made.
When working with me 1:1, an in-depth consultation will be carried out to ascertain your individual body type, discuss any areas of concern, and review your current lifestyle and relevant medical history. In most cases these will also include a tongue and pulse diagnosis – an important tool that can offer insight into both your body type and any imbalances that may be present.
