Ritual Bath for the New Moon in Pisces
I love working with water in my rituals during the new and full moons, especially if the moon also happens to be in one of the water signs, like today’s new moon in Pisces.
And what better way to connect with the zodiac’s most aquatic of signs then by submerging yourself in your very own body of water. But I’m not talking about any old bath. Sure, a long soak can feel like a real treat on the best of days, but light those candles, chuck in some pretty stuff (technical term for healing herbs), set those intentions, and you’ve got yourself a cleansing ritual fit for the goddess that you are.
New Moon Ritual Bath
What you need:
1 cup Epsom Salts (Himalayan and Sea salt can also be used)
Candles
A few sprigs of Lavender
White rose petals
5 drops of Jasmine oil (can be substituted for rose or lavender oil)
Clear quartz, Amethyst, Grey Moonstone or Aquamarine (Optional – If you already own these, great but please do not go out and buy them especially!)
Start by lighting your candle/s and dimming your bathroom lights (or turn off completely if it is safe to do so). Place your crystals (if using) around or inside your bath (if suitable for water). Fill your bath and whilst the water is running, add the Epson salts and swirl with your hands to dissolve. At this point you may wish to set an intention for your ritual.
Suggestions for the Pisces new moon could be… “With this bath I cleanse my body. I release all emotional blockages and welcome in clarity and intuition.” Or “With this bath I release that which is weighing me down and make space for my dreams to become my reality”.
Then mindfully add in the flowers and essential oils.
Once ready, step into the bath and as the water washes over you, breathe deeply, focusing on inhaling calm, clarity and intuition and exhaling heaviness, unwanted attachments and any tensions. Soak yourself for at least 20 minutes, devoting your time to this act of self-love.
You may want to follow your bath with a herbal tea such as sage or blue lotus.
